Romans 1:5 - Through Christ, God Gave Me a Special Work

Through Christ, God gave me the special work of an apostle—to lead people of all nations to believe and obey him. I do all this to honour Christ. (ERV)

I came across a tale about a young girl. Her father gave her a special box meant for her everyday use. The child cherished it deeply. During the visit of her family & friends, she proudly showed them the gift from her father. She explained how it worked and how beneficial it is.

The Special Gift

For Paul, this gift is incredibly special. Why is it special? It is a gift bestowed upon us through His grace. God offered His Son as a gift to all humanity. As stated in Ephesians 4:11, "And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers."

How Do We Perceive the Gift?

How do we perceive this gift? Is it tucked away in a corner of our lives? Do we utilize it only when needed? Or do we cherish this gift around the clock, sharing happiness, presence, and joy with others?

A qualified civil engineer guides his team to achieve excellence. This success stems from his deep understanding of the subject and his confidence in leadership.

Are We Qualified?

How about us? Are we qualified to understand the gift we received from heaven? Can we guide our family, neighbours, church, colleagues, and society through the gifts we've received?

In John 2:5, Mary tells the servants at the Wedding at Cana, "Do whatever he tells you." Mary believed that Jesus is the Son of God. She instructed the servants to obey by doing whatever He tells them.

Reflecting on the Gift

Each year, the seasons arrive and pass by. Now is the moment to pause and reflect on the gift that was given 2000 years ago. Are we merely using it for a season? Or are we treasuring this gift in every moment of our lives? Are we sharing the love of Christ with others?

The Importance of Sharing

Sharing our gifts is essential. It creates a ripple effect of love and kindness. When we share, we not only honour the gift but also inspire others to do the same. Imagine the joy that spreads when we pass on the love we’ve received!

Living with Purpose

Living with purpose means embracing the gift fully. It means allowing it to shape our actions and interactions. When we live intentionally, we reflect the love of Christ in our daily lives. This is how we can make a difference in our communities.
