Do we have a consistent prayer life? If we have failed in this area, here are some ways to revive ourselves to this practice once again.

Firstly, let us recollect the ways the Lord has blessed us, protected us, provided for us and guided us all through the day and thank Him with a grateful heart.

Secondly, examine ourselves in the presence of the Lord. Self examination is a must in our spiritual life. By evaluating ourselves we would know which is our ‘problem area.’ Satan knows this very well, even better than we know and he tries constantly to attack us in order to make us yield. That is why, we find that we fail miserably in the same issues again and again. For example, if a person who is basically short tempered, makes a decision that he would not become angry with others, the very next minute Satan allows people and situations in his life to provoke his anger to the most. If he yields, then he becomes a victim to the devil. But, let us not become weary. Remember that because the Lord is with us, we are always conquerors.

Thirdly, let us confess our area of weakness to the Lord, ask Him to give His strength to overcome the temptation in future. The Holy Spirit will certainly empower us to resist Satan.

Dear friends, to begin with we may have struggles persevering in prayer, but let us not give up.  Let us ask God’s grace to prevail in prayer with great fervor.  Surely the Lord will help us and there will be no more ‘rising and falling’ in our spiritual life. There will be steady progress and victory.

PRAYER: Heavenly Father, let my eyelids not close at nights before a prayer comes out from my heart. May I thank You for Your goodness. Help me to find out the ‘problem areas’ in my spiritual life, get rid of them and march on towards victory through Jesus Christ, my Lord. Amen.
