Read : Isaiah 55: 10-11

“Your Word, O Lord, is eternal; it stands firm in the heavens.” - Psalm 119:89

One day, Jesus was sitting in Simon Peter’s boat at the lake of Gennesaret and was preaching the Word of God to the multitude. After Jesus finished preaching and the crowd dispersed, He turned to Simon, looked at his face and said, “Launch into the deep water and let down the nets for a catch.” Going by his past fishing experience, Peter felt it would be impossible to catch any fish during that time. Besides, he had already washed his nets and it would be cumbersome to get ready and venture into the sea once again for fishing. But something in Peter told him that he can trust this “man’s” words. He thought, “Why not I give a try! And do as He says!” He told Jesus, “Nevertheless, at Your Word I will let down the nets.” And the result? He caught such a large number of fish that the nets began to break! (Luke 5:6)

Dear friends, we can hear God’s words in two ways. Firstly, through the Scripture – the Logos, the written Word! Secondly, through Rhema – the special Word that the Holy Spirit reveals to us. It is the spoken Word of God! Do we trust His Word? Faith comes by hearing the Word of God again and again. Not just by reading, but by hearing – which means that we must realize that it is actually God speaking to us whenever we read His Word. The more we read the Word, the more we meditate upon it and the more we inscribe it in the tablet of our hearts, our trust on God grows and becomes stronger. Once we trust God’s Word then it becomes easy for us to obey Him.

PRAYER: Heavenly Father, by Your Word the whole earth with all its nonliving things and living organisms were created. Your Word is full of power, life, and authority. Let me trust Your Word and do as You say, and help me to experience beautiful blessings. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.
