“... Let the world know that You sent me and have loved them even as You have loved me.” - John 17:23

One of Satan’s wily devices is to accuse us saying that we are not worthy to be loved by a holy God. He also tries to condemn us saying that we are not fasting enough, we are not praying enough, we are not witnessing enough, we are not reading the Bible enough ... and so on.

Dear friends, we should remember that the Lord, our heavenly Father, does not love us for what we do and what we do not do. He loves us just as we are. Ephesians 1:4 says that He has chosen us even before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in His sight. And Romans 5:8 says, “While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” So, the moment we accept Jesus as our Savior we become God’s children, we are given the spirit of sonship and we have the privilege of calling God, “Abba, Father.”

The love of our Father is freely available to us.  In Jeremiah 31:3 the God says, “I have loved you with an everlasting love,” and in Isaiah 54:10  He says, “Though the mountains be shaken and the hills be removed, yet my unfailing love for you will not be shaken.”  It is only by faith that we should accept God’s perfect love.  In order to do this, we should be strengthened by the Spirit in our inner man.   Only then we would understand the length, breadth, height and depth of God’s love for us.  Searching for love in the world would end in disappointment and lead to further self-pity and insecurity.  So, let us cast off all deception and doubts. Let us open our hearts wide to receive the immeasurable love the Father pours on us.  The only thing that gives us security in this world is the love of God.

PRAYER: Heavenly Father, I am awestruck to think that You love me with the same measure as You love Your only Son Jesus. Lord, I am absolutely unworthy to receive Your perfect love. But I come in faith and receive Your everlasting and unfailing love that You lavish on me. Amen.
