Read: Deuteronomy 10: 12-13

“Even now,“ declares the Lord, “return to me with all your heart, ... Rend your heart. ...” (Joel 2. 12,13)

Every relationship needs to be evaluated and reevaluated since we constantly grow and change. Even our relationship with God needs to be checked now and then, because it is not an ordinary relationship. It is nothing less than that of a holy relationship. The moment we accept Jesus as our Savior, God becomes our Father and we are adopted as His sons and daughters. We inherit His name. He becomes the head of our family, our Provider, Teacher, Protector, Healer, defender, Encourager, Restorer, Deliverer, Redeemer, … But do we maintain our relationship with God everyday of our life? Or do we fall drastically in our love and dedication for Him? Here’s a test to take from time to time to see if your relationship with God is growing.

Ask yourself these soul searching questions and try to answer sincerely.

1. What am I doing with what God has given me?

2. Am I blaming God for something that is not His fault?

3. Do I neglect to acknowledge the gifts of grace God has given me?

4. Have I been seeking His advice and searching out His counsel? If He talks with me through scripture or through other sources, do I listen? And follow?

5. Do I feel grateful? Do I take time to tell Him “Thank You”?

6. Have I taken His promises seriously? Do I doubt what God has promised me during the times when everything seems negative.

7. Does my passion to read His Word and to spend time in prayer grow day by day?

Dear friends, if we seem to fall short in our relationship with God, let us try to restore it back and quickly reconcile with Him. If we go too far from Him we may face the danger of losing His fellowship forever.

PRAYER: Dear Lord, I find that I am slowly drifting away from You. Many a time I have been ungrateful and have forgotten to acknowledge the blessings that You have bestowed upon me. I have not trusted You wholeheartedly. Rekindle my passion for You Lord. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.
