“Teach me to do Your will, for You are my God; may Your good Spirit lead me on level ground.” - Psalm 143: 10 NIV

There are moments in life when we feel unsure of our next step. Confusion clouds our mind, and the path ahead seems uneven or unclear. David, in the midst of deep distress, did not ask God for comfort first - he asked for direction. He cried out not just to know God’s will, but to do it. That’s the mark of a surrendered heart - not merely seeking answers, but earnestly desiring obedience. David knew that apart from the leading of God’s Spirit, he would lose his way. So he prayed, “Teach me ... lead me.” This simple prayer is one of deep trust and dependence.

Dear friends, we, too, must be taught by the Lord daily.  We cannot rely on our own wisdom or strength.  In essence, to walk in God’s will means to submit humbly to His instruction, listen attentively to His Word, trust in His Spirit’s guidance, and obey even when the road seems difficult.  God’s Spirit leads us not on crooked paths but on level ground - paths of righteousness and peace.  As Proverbs 3:6 reminds us, “In all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight.”  
When we follow God’s voice, He calls our fears and steadies our steps.  “The will of God will never take you where the grace of God cannot keep you.”  So let us ask Him each morning to teach us again and lead us forward, every step.

PRAYER: Dear Lord, You are my God. Teach me to do Your will in every area of my life. Lead me by Your Spirit when I cannot see clearly. Help me to walk faithfully in the path You choose, knowing You will make the ground level beneath my feet. Amen.
