The second coming of Jesus is CERTAIN because Jesus Himself had spoken about His return in Matthew 24:30 - At that time the sign of the Son of Man will appear in the sky, and all the nations of the earth will mourn. They will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of the sky, with power and great glory. Paul in I Thessalonians 4:16-18 says very clearly, For the Lord Himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God. So, let us not be casual or treat the Word of God lightly, because the return of the Lord will take place unexpectedly. I Thessalonians 5:2-3 says, The day of the Lord will come like a thief in the night. While people are saying, Peace and safety, destruction will come on them suddenly as labor pains of a pregnant woman. Jesus told in Matthew 24:27, For as lightning that comes from the east is visible even in the west, so will be the coming of the Son of Man.

Dear friends, the Lord wants us to live all the time as if today would be our last. John Wesley was asked at one time, What would you do if you knew tonight you would die? The great preacher of the years gone by said: I would exactly do what I have scheduled to do. Could we say that? Let us take a serious look at our lives. Let us prepare ourselves everyday to meet our Lord when He returns. Let us not be blinded by the vanities of the world, but let us remember that our citizenship is in heaven and let us eagerly prepare and expect to attain it.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, let the second coming of Jesus be my great hope for the future. Let me prepare myself each day for that glorious event. And also tell as many people as possible about this and prepare them too so that none will be left behind. In Jesus name I pray. Amen.
