Sunday, March 08 || STEPS TOWARD SHARING THE GOSPEL (2)!

“... And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

- Matthew 28:20

There are certain other important guidelines for effective evangelisation and for soul-winning.

First, “Be immersed in prayer.” Jesus’ life was immersed in prayer. In Matthew 14:23 and Mark 6:46 we read that “Jesus went up on the mountainside by Himself to pray.” We read in the gospels that Jesus spent even the whole night praying. In Matthew 26:41 Jesus advises us to watch and pray. So we need to prevail in prayer because prayer prepares us, prayer prepares the individuals we are going to minister, prayer prepares the environment for us to share the gospel and prayer breaks the power of Satan over the people to whom we would share the gospel.

Next, “Be prepared.” I Peter 3:15 says, “Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope you have. But, do this with gentleness and respect.”

Next, “Be ready to go to the people.” Jesus went to the multitude and preached about the Kingdom. Let us be ready to go wherever the Lord sends us. Next, “Be ready to talk about Jesus.” We may tell our testimony in two minutes. Mainly, we should focus on what Jesus did on the Cross, tell of His love and His sacrifice.

Finally, expect God to use you. People are hungry for God. There is a vacuum in their lives and it can be filled only by Jesus. We are the people God has chosen. We are special.

So, dear friends, let us go forth with the Lord by our side and attempt great things for the Lord.

PRAYER : Heavenly Father, bless my efforts as I labor to spread the good news to people around me. Empower me by Your Spirit. Give me the right words to speak. Let me not be ashamed, afraid or anxious. But, let me trust that You will act in people’s mind and draw them towards You. Amen.
