“The grass withers and the flowers fall, but the Word of our God

stands forever." - Isaiah 40:8

A wise man built the house on the rock and the foolish man built it on the sand. There was a torrential rain and the house built on rock stood because it had its foundation on the rock, whereas the house built on sand crashed down. Jesus said that whoever heard His words and put them into practice was like the wise man. They would certainly survive life's storm without facing destruction. Someone said, Christian life is like "heading into a storm, being in a storm and coming out of a storm." Storms are inevitable; they are also uncontrollable. It does not matter whether we have built upon rock or sand; storms do certainly come. But the question is, how are we building our lives - on rock or sand? Will we survive and endure the storms when they do come? When we receive Jesus as our personal Savior, we start building our life upon Him, who is the immovable Rock. He becomes the foundation of our life. Second, the Word of God becomes our imperishable building material.

So dear friends, when we build our lives on Jesus, the Rock, using imperishable building material, His Word, then our lives would be eternal. We would endure life's storms, financial or material or physical. We would have great peace that would sustain us through difficulties. Not only that, when we come out of the storm victoriously, we would stand as witnesses for what God has done in our lives and bring glory to His Name.
PRAYER: Dear Lord, storms in life are inevitable, and at times, they are uncontrollable too. Help me to build my life in a way to endure the storm. Let me build on Jesus the Eternal Rock, with His imperishable Word, and with an eternal purpose in mind. Let me glorify You through my life. In Jesus' name I pray. Amen.
