"How great is the love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! ..." - 1 John 3:1

How great is the love of the heavenly Father towards us! It has no measure; it has no depth; width; height; length! It has no boundary. It is consistent, faithful and unending. What is more amazing is that God loved us even when we were still sinners. He loved us before even we knew Him. He loved us even when we betrayed Him. His love is supreme. It is the agape love, the unconditional, selfless love! The Father loves us so much that He gave His only Son just to die for us. He sent Him to this earth to suffer, to be ridiculed, to be beaten, and to be humiliated. He sent Him to shed His innocent blood and undergo the most excruciating and painful death on the Cross in order to save mankind. This love is unfathomable. Can any man show such a love? Can anyone come forward to give his life for his enemy? Probably one might give his life for his dear ones. But, who would die for his enemy? No one! But the Son loved us so much that He willingly came to this earth and offered Himself to die for us, His enemies. This in fact is the divine love, so amazing, so great!

Dear friends, how do we reciprocate God's love? His love for us is so great that it engulfs us like an ocean, but our love for Him is so small that is like a drop of water of that great ocean. Let our hearts be filled with gratitude and joy, and let us praise Him for His indescribable gift - our Lord Jesus Christ, who is our Saviour!

PRAYER: Loving God, how great is Your love for me! I am unable to comprehend it. On the other hand, my love for You is so tiny as a drop of water in a great ocean. Forgive me. Help me to love You with all my heart, my soul, my strength and my mind. In Jesus' name I pray. Amen.
