Saturday, March 21 || GET AWAY FROM ME, SATAN!

“How can anyone enter a strong man’s house and carry off his possessions unless he first ties up the strong man? ...”

- Matthew 12:29

Jesus has given us the authority to demolish the strongholds of Satan. In order to defeat Satan, we need to do two things.

First, we should use the name of Jesus. Before the name of Jesus, every knee will bow, because He is the Lord. (Philippians 2: 9,10) Every demon from hell knows the authority of that name. Second, we should claim God’s promises. Let us break the bonds of sin and hell.

Dr. Frank Kline, was a President of Union Biblical Seminary in India, he visited the village home of a new convert to cleanse it of its former idols. He was invited by the head of the family to enter the house and bring the images outside. This was a new experience for Frank. Since the pastor who accompanied him had instructed him, “Call on the name of Jesus, hold your Bible in your hand, go in and bring out the images,” Frank, with the Bible at his side started towards the door of the house. But, to his amazement, at a certain point he was stopped by an unseen power. Suddenly realising the seriousness of Satan’s power against him, Frank said boldly, “In the name of Jesus...” and walked right into the house and brought out the idols without further hindrance.

Dear friends, let us remember that it is not enough if we just carry the Bible when we confront evil forces. We should know to use the right Bible verse that would shake Satan off his feet. Satan trembles before the Word of God, because it is the Sword of Spirit. So let us dare to penetrate into the darkness and dislodge Satan by the name of Jesus and the power of His Word.

PRAYER: Dear Lord, let me not be afraid of the devil but drive him out in the name of Jesus and by the power of His Word. Help me to realize the great power that is in Jesus’ name, which makes all the evil forces in the hell tremble. Thank You for giving me the authority to defeat Satan. Amen.
