During an interview, a prisoner was questioned about what led him to kill his own mother. He explained that from his childhood, he had a tendency to steal from his classmates, which gradually escalated to shoplifting, then to stealing from neighborhoods, and finally to robbing a bank, where he was caught. The interviewer asked how these events related to the murder of his mother. He stated that his mother never taught him that he would face punishment for stealing or that there would be consequences; instead, she always encouraged him and never discouraged his behavior.
Paul encourages scholars, authorities, rulers, and everyone else to be mindful of how they live their lives. They shouldn't become complacent just because they believe they are born again and free from eternal judgment. Just because you've been saved by God's grace doesn't mean you can live however you want.
In today's society, cultural and peer pressures are everywhere, and many of us feel like we're living a forced lifestyle. However, as Christians who have genuinely accepted Christ as our savior, we need to remember that we don't belong to this world. Instead, we are called to share good news with the poor, offer freedom to those who are held captive, heal the brokenhearted, and open the doors for those who are imprisoned. We are here to declare the year of the Lord's favor, provide comfort to everyone who is grieving, and live as a testament to our faith.
My beloved friend, let's not get caught up in the ways of this world. We're meant to be righteous! God's grace empowers us to live victorious lives as we follow Christ, not the world's path.
Paul cautions those in power, reminding them that they aren't exempt from eternal judgment. He urges us to be careful in living a life that pleases God, because of His grace, we are called to be His children. We bear a greater responsibility than those who live in this world without Christ as their savior. To whom much is given, much is expected.
God bless you! May the Word of YHWH fill you and be a blessing to others.
