Dr. Samuel Johnson wore a watch on which was engraved the words from John 9:4 - ‘’The night cometh.’’ Jesus told that as long as it is day we must do the work of the Father. We as children of God must ‘write’ in our hearts the solemn truth of how short our life on this earth is and how fast we should do God’s work. Billy Bray, a godly clergyman, sat by the bedside of a dying Christian who had been timid about his testimony for Christ all through his life. The dying man said, ‘’If I had the power I’d shout glory to God.’’ Billy Bray answered, ‘’It is a pity you didn’t shout glory when you had the power!’’

Dear friends, how many of us would look back over a lifetime of wasted opportunities and ineffective witness, and weep because we did not allow God to use us as He wanted! If ever we are to read the Bible, if ever we are to spend time in prayer, if ever we are to win souls for Christ - it must be now!  Today, even now, let us invite the Holy Spirit  to fill us with that kind of all consuming vision and calling.  Let us humble ourselves and repent of ANYTHING that would hinder or quench the Spirit of revival. Let us be sensitive enough to feel how the Lord feels about the pathetic state of the Church and the world. This is the season for us to fast, weep and pray for the true visitation of the Lord. In fact, it could be our last opportunity to cooperate with God’s revival purposes. We may never get one more chance in our lifetime to be involved in the true move of God. Shall we surrender and submit ourselves to God’s plan? If we still hesitate, the Lord might look elsewhere to find a willing and humble soul to accomplish His will.

PRAYER: Dear Lord, the coming of Jesus is certain and it is going to be very soon. Let me not be complacent and careless but make every effort to guard the eternal Word in my heart and inherit eternal life. And be qualified to meet the Lord with confidence. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.
