Read : John 12: 20-22

Near the end of three years of Jesus’ earthly ministry, certain Greeks came to His disciples, wanting to see the Master. There they met Philip and said, “Sir, we would like to see Jesus.” Why did they want to see Jesus? They recognized that Jesus was uniquely different and something about His personality attracted them. He was as much a man as any individual, as though He were not God. He also was as much God, as though He never were man. His life as a man was an example of righteousness. He spoke no false or idle words, harbored no thoughts of revenge. He became tired with travelling and went to sleep in a tossing boat. If He had lived in a supernatural body, He would not have needed food and sleep. He was “Son of Man,” but not superman.

Dear friends, do we have the passion to meet Jesus personally? He lived without sin, not because He could not sin, but because He would not sin. He had traits of humanity, yet He is also the unchanging Christ, the Son of God. He was born of a virgin, of seed of the Spirit of God. Death claimed Him as it has claimed all men, yet death was destroyed forever by Him. He is the only one through whom all mankind can be saved and inherit eternal life. Let us yearn to know more of Him day by day till we meet Him face to face in heaven.

PRAYER: Heavenly Father, I am greatly privileged to have Jesus as my Savior. Let me not be satisfied with the experience of salvation, but give me the longing to know Him more and more. Let the glory of His presence be mine eternally.  In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.
