Read : Proverbs 2:12-17 & 4:7-12

“The Lord gives wisdom; from His mouth come knowledge and understanding.” - Proverbs 2:6

Many times we make foolish choices and regret later for our unwise actions. Most often we make such choices in ignorance. Sometimes we act foolishly due to bad counsel. We seek out the wrong people for advice or direction. We get wrong information about what to do or what to say. We choose to go along with the flow of the society, saying, “Because everybody is doing it, it should be correct and acceptable,” and thus end up in messing up our lives. But, God wants us to walk in wisdom. He wants us to maximize our potential and to become men and women He created us to be. He expects us to develop and use all our talents, abilities and gifts that He had placed within us. He wants us to walk wisely so that we may experience the fullness of His provision as promised in His Word – both spiritually and physically. He desires that we should avoid all the pitfalls associated with foolish living. When God appeared to Solomon and said, “Ask for whatever you want me to give you,” (I Kings 3:5) he asked for wisdom from above. And God granted his request and exalted him above all the kings of Egypt and of the East. Because he was blessed with godly wisdom, Solomon was able to rule over all the Israelites effectively.

Dear friends, we need God’s wisdom in our business dealings, our health, our relationships, our parenting and our finances. No area of life is beyond the need for wisdom. So let us ask God every day to fill us with divine wisdom so that we will not do things foolishly in any circumstance of our life.

PRAYER: Almighty God, every day I am forced with new challenges, new opportunities and new problems. I need Your wisdom to distinguish between what is right and what is wrong.  I need to take correct decisions in various matters. Fill me with Your divine wisdom every single day. Amen.
