Friday, June 13 || WHAT DO YOU HAVE?

Read : II Kings 4: 1-7

“... Be content with what you have, ...” (Hebrews 13:5) “Be content with what you have, because God has said, “Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.” - Hebrews 13:5

Today, what do you have in your hands? Do you have riches, honor, education, status. But most importantly, do you have Jesus? Remember, when Jesus is with us, we need not have all these. Moses had just a rod – a staff of a shepherd! But, as the Lord was with Moses, when he stretched the rod over the sea, the great sea parted giving way for the Israelites. Widow of Zarephath had just a little dough and a little oil enough for just a meal! She believed the Word of God that came through the prophet and engaged her faith in action. Till rains came and famine ceased, she had enough – and more! God was with her and He stood by His promise. The little boy had five loaves of barley bread and two small fish! There were five thousand men besides their wives and children to be fed. But, what a wonder! Everyone ate their fill and the remaining was gathered in twelve baskets! Jesus’ presence and blessing of the food wrought a miracle.

Dear friends, even today Jesus is with us. He will never leave us, nor forsake us!  When we commit what we have into God’s hands, He uses them and also uses us to be a blessing and to stand as a witness for His goodness. Be content of what resources you have.  Give them in Jesus’ hands and try them. You will see great results, humanly impossible results, which the world’s wisdom or riches or honor can never achieve!

PRAYER: Heavenly Father, I have always been vying for what others have. I also think what I have is not enough. Today, I have learnt when I give what I have with me, I can really become Your worthy servant and reap the best from the available resources. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.
