- Psalm 64:1

Joseph was a seventeen year old boy when his brothers sold him to the Midianites, who in turn sold him to Potiphar. Since God was with him, Joseph found favor in the eyes of his master and he was put in charge of all his master’s household. One day, he was accused falsely and was put in prison. Even there God was with Joseph. He found favor in the eyes of the prison warden. Moreover, while he was in the prison, God gave him a chance to use his gift of interpretation of dreams. The cupbearer, who was benefited by Joseph’s interpretation, promised that he would talk with Pharaoh and get him out of the prison. But he failed to do so. Joseph had to be in the jail for two more years.

Then came the day of deliverance for Joseph. He interpreted Pharaoh’s dream. This greatly impressed Pharaoh, and he exalted him to the highest rank by putting him in-charge of his whole palace! By now Joseph was thirty years old. For thirteen years, the Lord had preserved the life of Joseph wonderfully. He did not allow anyone to lay his hands upon him. His brothers could have killed him. Midianites could have harmed him. But, the Lord did not allow anything of this sort to happen because He had a greater purpose to be fulfilled through Joseph. He kept him alive so that he would in turn preserve the entire family of Jacob and his descendants.

Dear friends, never doubt God, nor be afraid when your situations are threatening. Be sure that God is with you to preserve your life. He has a great plan to be accomplished through you and He will never ever abandon you.

PRAYER: Dear Lord, let me not be afraid when people or circumstances threaten to destroy me, but let me remain confident that You are with me to preserve my life, and fulfill the plan You have ordained for me. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.
