Revival delays not only because of prayerlessness, but also because of certain other reasons. The Church today is spiritually declining because of worldliness. Pathetically the Church has allowed itself to be squeezed into the mould of the world. Instead of letting the Scripture be our standard, we decide and act based on human thinking. Secondly, revival delays because of lack of love that is prevalent in Christianity. An evangelist who travels to many countries, visiting churches of all denominations said, “The biggest single issue that muffles the voice of the Church is the hostile, unloving attitude Christians have one toward another.” Only when such barriers are broken and when the love of Christ flows will there be unity among the Christians. Next, revival delays because of unforgiveness. In one of the churches in Wales, the whole congregation were unitedly praying for a revival for many months. One day in one of the prayer meetings, as everyone was praying earnestly, a man from the congregation suddenly rose up, went across the pews, straight to another man and said with tears, “O my friend, forgive me.” Immediately both of them embraced and cried. Soon many got up, confessed their sins with tears and reconciled with each other. The whole church was under the power of the Holy Spirit. Revival that broke out there spread like waves of the sea to the neighboring churches too.

Dear friends, such issues cannot be eliminated from the church by powerful preaching, or by counseling, but the real answer for this lies in mighty Holy Spirit revival that cleanses the church of all its blemishes and impurities.  So let us desperately pray that the Holy Spirit should convict the hearts of people so that they would act in obedience to the Word of God.

PRAYER: Dear Lord, how sad it is that worldliness has entered into our churches not only in the form of dressing, music and singing but also in our thinking. It is painful to see unloving attitude among believers between different denominations. Forgive us. Let us not hinder revival. Amen.
