"As a dog returns to its vomit, so a fool repeats his folly." - Proverbs 26:11

A beauty salon for men held a large fair in a metropolitan city. To propagate and sell thier products, they brought the dirtiest man they could find and presented him on the stage. Then they cleaned him, shaved him, shampooed and styled his hair. They washed him with a new kind of soap they were trying to sell. They dressed him with a new suit. He looked great! He looked and felt like a new man. They brought him back to the stage to show him off, saying to all the world, "This is what our beauty salon can do for you". Looking at the man on stage no one would ever have guessed that he was living in the streets just a few hours before. He was completely changed. The very next day the organizers of the fair went looking for this man again. Can you guess where they found him? Yes, lying in the same gutter, filthy and drunk! How pathetic! II Peter 2:20 says that if a person has escaped the corruption of the world by knowing our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and again gets entangled in it, he is worse off at the end than he was at the beginning. The proverbs that is said of him is true: "A dog returns to its vomit,” and, “A sow that is washed goes back to her wallowing in the mud". (II Peter 2:22)

Dear friends, let us examine our spiritual condition. We may look wonderful in the eyes of the world. But God sees our heart. Is our heart filthy and dirty? Has it lost all the glory it had received after salvation? Beware, unless it is washed by the blood of Jesus it will face eternal condemnation. Let us repent before it is too late.
PRAYER: Heavenly Father, You cleansed all my sins by the blood of Jesus and made me dwell in heavenly places, but how foolish I am to get back to the miry clay in which I originally was immersed. Forgive me Lord. Restore me to Your glory again. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.
